Brown eyes stared into those of similar reflection. Raising a hand to tuck a strand of hair that had fallen from her bangs. Boney fingers were seen, with a pale(nearly transparent) skin. Her skin was so thin, and her figure so small her bones were visible as well as her veins. Scabbed over wounds were visible against her fingers. Brown eyes looked away from the mirror, and down at a pair of hands. Each of the fingers were pricked, scraped, or cut. Making it obvious he had a green thumb. Dahlia looked away from the mirror, as a knock sounded on the door.
"Coming." Was all she spoke, and her voice was slightly broken as she did. It was supper time, but what was the point. Her brothers took all of the food, and she was left with barely any. Exiting her room, she closed the door behind her softly. Once within the dining area, she looked around. Curtains were ragid, and faded. What was once red was now alight pink. The sunset shown against the curtains, making it clear that the Sun had taken the color from the curtains with time. Looking at the table, it was chipped wood, and looked hand made. Though that wasn't anything new. Dahlia's family were good with plants and trees. They always had been. Though it was obviously needed for District five.
Dahlia took a seat at her table, and upon doing so the food on the table disappeared. Not with magic, magic didn't exist. No, her brothers' had inhaled all of the food, as well as her twin. The only thing left was a chicken wing, and half a spoonful of mashed potatoes. Taking it, she chewed as much from it as she could, but the look on her face wasn't hurt or hungry even. Dahlia was used to this. Used to not getting enough, used to doing without. It showed in her face, her eyes, her stomach, and every other part of her body. After supper had finished, which didn't take long at all. Dahlia exited her home, and went for any evening stroll. Perhaps some pretty flowers, and a new hair color might cheer her up.
